The Department of Communication is dedicated to putting students first. Our faculty place a priority on quality teaching, which is demonstrated by their engaging courses, revising of the curriculum and course materials, and caring for students. Our staff do their best to ensure that students meet the university's requirements so they can graduate on time.
In addition to serving in the classroom, our faculty also serve in many other ways. Most of our faculty are involved in university committee work, and many serve in leadership positions in professional and academic organizations. The networks that our faculty develop and maintain in the various fields of communication serve our students as well, since they help open doors for internships and interviews. Faculty research also contributes to serving students, as the results enhance course lectures and discussion. Many of our faculty are actively involved in the local community as well, and bring that sense of engagement to students in the form of service-learning and community-based research.
