Education

Larry Taylor received a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee
College of Communication & Information in May 2007. He received a
B.A. and M.A. in English Literature from Western Carolina
University (B.A. 1991, M.A. 1993).

Professional Affiliations / Organizations

Larry has worked as a journalist across North Carolina since 1995.
He has held various writing and editing positions, including Web
development, for both daily and community newspapers earning state
press awards for both feature layout and editorial writing.

Before joining ASU as full-time faculty, Larry held adjunct
positions at ASU and Wilkes Community College teaching
communication and English composition and literature. Most
recently he served as a Graduate Teaching Associate in the
Journalism and Electronic Media Department with the College of
Communication and Information at the University of Tennessee.

Research Interests

Current primary research is focused on media literacy and
technology integration in primary & secondary education.

General interests include computer technology, media literacy,
diffusion of innovation and cognition theories such as dissonance
and cognitive learning.
